*alert* Six display dolls missing from NY Dolpa

  • Jun 8, 2008
  • Post a comment

The doll community is in uproars right now as it turns out that six one-off Volks dollfies was stolen from the NY Dolpa. For those of you who don't know what dollfies is, they are resin dolls from Japan that people collect all over the world. The dollfie hobby has grown large over the years and most models are rare end rather expensive. These six dolls where even more rare and expensive as they where special artists one-off. It took years to get Volks to open up a store in the US and even longer for them to arrange a US Dolpa. A Dolpa is a gathering for Dollfie lovers and collector where Volks show of and sell their new merchandise. This is the third NY Dolpa being held. It is a shame that someone would do such a thing. :( Please help keep an eye out for these dolls.

Here is the info posted on the Den of angels forum.

*alert* SIX DISPLAY DOLLS MISSING FROM NY DOLPA

I'm just sick to make this announcement -- six of Volks' display dolls went missing overnight.

If you hear ANYTHING about these dolls, please let us know. Keep an eye on eBay, Y!J, and the DoA Marketplace, and we will be doing the same.

Here is the information about the missing dolls -- pictures will be up shortly. These are one-off, unique dolls. They do not have a headplate on the back of the head, they have an artist's signature inside instead.

(1) SD16 Girl "Ruby" w/black swan dress

(2) MSD Girl F-21 Fairy w/blue dress

(3) MSD Boy F-13 Fairy w/blue outfit (2 and 3 have matching outfits and long elf ears)

(4) MSD Girl F-22 Fairy w/yellow dress

(5) SD13 Girl F-29 w/yellow dress (4 and 5 have matched dresses)

(6) SD13 Boy F-31 Fairy w/dark green & red outfit

(7) SD13 Boy "Irvin" (FDQ Limited Model) w/Fairy default dress

Please don't post to this thread with chat, this should be for actual information only.

Thanks, and let's all hope that these dolls are returned safely to Volks -- all of us here at Dolpa are really emotional about this, and I hope that no one has stolen the dolls for personal gain, and that they are returned without incident.

Mr. Shigeta personally stated that if someone took these dolls home and is willing to return them, no accusations will be made.

Thanks,

-- Andi, on behalf of the DoA Mod Team

Circa notebooks

Having a journal addiction/stationary fetish like I do, one of my dream notebooks to try out is the circa notebooks from Levenger. I keep finding myself staring at these little beauty and dreaming away about trying them one day, if I could only make up my mind as to which set to get. Finally came the day that I settled on the Circa Simply Irresistible Sampling Kit. This seemed to have all the stuff I needed and wanted as well as that extra 40USD gift card with it. A great deal I thought to myself. So I click buy and go to check out. Hmm shipping to Norway seems a little steep, but Ok. I'm willing to spend 30USD extra to get my dream kit finally home. Only, the shipping is only an estimate. They will email you the real shipping quote later. But I think to myself surely it cant be that bad. Unfortuantly shipping came to a little over 60 dollars. To much for me. :( I'm guessing the package have to be really heavy then. Thats more then I pay to ship my to kilo dolls to the states. This is offcourse an express shipping, but since Levenger has no other shipping option there will be no circa notebook for me for a while (student budjett can be really annoying at times). But I'll probably break down one day and get it anyway despite the high shipping prices. Curiosity killed the cat as they say ,or in this case, it'll be killing my budjett.

Beautiful Goddess

I made this page yesterday and I love it. I was trying to make a positive affirmation page. Somehow it turned out to be a pregnant Goddess involved. O_o But I like her. I guess she is symbolic for giving birth to new ideas or something like that. ^_^

...yesterday. I was working on a journal page all day, but didn't manage to finish it before bed time due to some (mostly) unwelcome
interrupptions. Among them the bad new that mum will be admitted to the hospital again on monday. My mother has a bad case
of lymphomacancer and things have been a bit rough lately. I will work some more on the page today, but I ain't making any picture posting
promises.
